The alley connected to Exit 4 of Eulji-ro 3-ga Station bustles every night with people drinking beer with nogari at simple tables. Under brilliant street lights, plastic tables are spread out and filled with hundreds of customers. Eulji-ro Nogari Alley began in November 1980 with Eulji OB Beer, the first nogari hophouse. Eulji-ro is the nation's largest printing district, where all books and promotional materials distributed throughout the country were distributed from Eulji-ro. Therefore, there were many printing workers who worked overnight to meet deadlines, and when their shifts ended and they headed home, they would unwind by drinking cool draft beer with nogari. This is how beer establishments gradually opened one by one, eventually forming a nogari draft beer alley. When the alley first formed, nogari was grilled directly over charcoal briquettes and served with gochujang, but nowadays many shops in Eulji-ro Nogari Alley offer not only nogari but also various side dishes like chicken, stews, and fried foods, similar to hophouses. The main menu items are naturally nogari and draft beer.
