The brackets supporting the roof eaves are in the dappo style, featuring not only above the pillars but also between them. The gentle curves and solid joinery demonstrate the characteristics of the early Joseon period. According to 'Jibongyuseol,' Prince Yangnyeong, the eldest son of King Taejong, wrote the plaque for Sungnyemun.
